Buyer received item damaged

Buyer said item was damaged when they received. Asked eBay for help said file pip claim did that. Claim was not accepted because no insurance was mailed first class. I told eBay this they told me to file. What do I do?

If you want the item returned, ask the buyer to open a return request so you can provide a return label, then refund in full when you receive it back.

If you don’t want it returned, refund the buyer in full through your sold orders page.

The seller is responsible for the item until delivered in the condition listed.  Insurance protects the seller - if you sent without insurance, the loss is yours.
