Hello,
I am writing this question but won't be checking back until after work (I am at lunch). A buyer purchased a brand new item from me. They then told eBay that I misrepresented the item and sent a picture of some other item. eBay issued a refund. I spoke with eBay and reported the buyer but was not asked for my proof. I cannot find a way to provide the evidence and feel my case needs the proof to be settled correctly. Any ideas about what I can do? Thanks in advance!

There's no way to fix this. Buyers lie and say they received the wrong item and you're forced to refund.
You'll probably get back whatever it is they claimed you sent. Or worse, brick in a box and you'll still have to refund.
You can complain to eBay after you refund but the most you can expect from them is a tiny voucher for shipping.

I sent a brand new pair of genuine Harley Davidson Tribal Mirrors, still in the box. The buyer did not contact me but put some black, rounded mirrors on my package and said that I misrepresented the item. You can clearly see the difference in shape in my photos and mine are chrome mirrors, shaped like an elongated triangle. Mine are genuine and brand new. EBay approved a return. I told the buyer that I have video proof of what I sent. I called eBay and the rep. told me how to file a buyer complaint, which I did, while she assisted me. I have a video of the process of packing and shipping. I called eBay back to ask where I can send photos and video. All I was told is that they would note my call. I have a great reputation because this is mostly a hobby for me. I love doing the research on items I find (I once was able to provide a husband the wedding cake topper made by Lefton, from his wedding 25 years ago!). It was a surprise for his wife! Made my whole year! I want my buyers to be very happy with their purchases but this buyer is lying.
Sorry for the long-winded response. I am on chemotherapy and my husband keeps me at home most of the time due to covid concerns!
I am not sure how this process works. I asked the buyer to send back what he says he received and I will provide that and my evidence of what I sent to him to eBay. I asked if the buyer needed a return label or had eBay sent one. I never heard back from him. I just do not want eBay to close the case in the buyer's favor without seeing my evidence of his deception. I have not received anything back and it was a fairly expensive "new old stock" item. More than the money, I just want these scams to stop. So many sellers are discouraged.

The short answer is I do not know what eBay has done. I just want them to have all of the facts. If they did issue a refund, can I post anything to expose the scammer?
Do other selling venues treat sellers poorly?
