Buyer doesn’t get adequate shipping coverage?

Has anyone ever gotten a buyer who paid for shipping but not enough to send the item they bought from you…I’m relatively new to this so any advice would be welcomed, however I am supposed to be sending out a table that is heavy and just fits under the freight requirements but it’s still a decent package  36” x 36” x 24” about 70 pounds and I usually just set. Up a couple options thru eBay via ups and fedex bc I thought that was actually a decent deal but it seems like it may not be and it also seams that my buyer was able to get a different shipping all together…? It shows on my label that I printed (as I normally would) dimensions that are too small (21”x20”x19”) weight 22.25# and under that it shows “Bill Sender” in total it shows buyer only paid 24 to have me send this table  across several state lines; surely that’s not correct,?  how do I proceed? Do I just eat it? The table was 590 w eBay fees etc buyer paid 661 and received  for me is 420 after “final value fee , taxes, promo, etc” which is wild in its own right 241 deducted and shipping was 24? It requires a custom made box bc of the odd size and shape so it cost me 13 just for the boxes; I really don’t want to pay more for shipping etc; can anyone lend me some insight on what to do next; how to prevent this again in the future and anything else advice wise etc would be welcomed and greatly appreciated as well.

cheers!

In looking at the listing, it is obvious that you underestimated the shipping charges to the buyer. You cannot charge the buyer any more for shipping charges than what was shown on the listing.

You will need to make up the difference out of your own pocket.

In the future, use calculated shipping based on buyer's shipping address, precise weight and exact dimensions of the prepackaged item.

Here's how to use calculated shipping when listing your items:

  1. In the Shipping section of your listing, select Calculated: Cost varies by buyer location.
  2. Next to Services, select Calculate Shipping.
  3. In Package details in the Shipping Calculator, enter your package type, dimensions, and weight. If you're selling an irregularly shaped item, estimate its dimensions by measuring a box you can fit it in.
  4. In the Your details section, enter your ZIP code and any handling fees.
  5. Select Calculate shipping.
  6. Select the shipping services you want to offer, and drag them into the order you want buyers to see them.
  7. Select Offer shipping services.
  8. Complete your listing.
