Buyer address and on eBay incomplete

I sold an item and printed the label straight from eBay. USPS says there’s no zip code. How can a buyer not have a complete address on their eBay account? I messaged the seller but haven’t gotten a response first. I’m in the USA and the buyer is in France.

I've never known USPS to validate a foreign address. (Beside, France uses postal codes, not zip codes.) They are only interested in getting the item to the destination country and it's up to the postal system there to deal with any address problems.

The buyer may be in France, but are you shipping to France or to a US address?

My mistake, it’s actually Switzerland, not France. I’ve shipped hundreds of packages overseas from the US and never had this problem. The buyer responded with the postal code, which was already on the label. I guess the USPS person was new.

Agreed...that would be a likely explanation.
