Buyer Beware -- E-CRAP is a better name for this outfit!

My first mistake was to trust E-Bay with a purchase ($150 drone) for a son.  The second mistake was believing E-Bay gives a crap. The third mistake was to trust E-Bay to do the right thing when something goes wrong.

Briefly, here’s the timeline:

>> July 11  -- ordered new 'FIJ S608" model drone from a California based seller fij_official

>> August 19 -- received wrong model 'YZRC L900' (almost 5 weeks late !!) with a bogus N.Y. return address, a missing carrying case, missing user's manual, a camera that doesn't work, battery going dead in less than 10 min, though 30 min advertised).

>> August 24 -- I asked e-bay to step in.

>> August 29 -- E-Bay discloses true seller's address/location (Sri Lanka), and requests that I pay for the  return (seller has accepted the return but did not provide return shipping label).

>>  September 7 -- I ship the toy back ($40 to ship the broken unit back to seller).

>>  October 18 -- E-Bay says case closed. No refund forthcoming. No specific reason provided.

So,  I’m out $190 because … why?

Is this a F’ing joke?

You should not have had to pay for return shipping -that was not communicated correctly. For receiving damaged/not as described items, the seller is ALWAYS responsible for return shipping - either with a prepaid return label,or they have to PayPal you $ in advance to cover return costs, even if they are overseas. If they don't, then eBay will refund you without requiring a return.

If the drone was shipped from a U.S.location, it only has to be returned to a U.S. location.

Did you have to ship it back to Sri Lanka or a U.S. location, and does the return tracking show it was delivered to the seller?

Ask eBay CS for a manual review of this entire transaction - if you use social media, that would be your best option  - they have a very good team there to help resolve problems.
Only use the Private DM or PM Messaging - do not post your account info publicly.
Give them your User ID, your real name/address, the email attached to your account, Item #, Case #, and explain the issue in detail.
They usually respond in a day or two.

Thank you ferncliff-39 for your reply and the info!

The item was shipped back to Sri Lanka (per E-Bay's instructions) and according to USPS (tracking number), the package was delivered on Sept. 23 (but delivered where? ... to the seller or to Sri Lankan postal service?).

What is driving me crazy is the fact that E-Bay provides a platform, their web site, to be used to conduct business, yet E-Bay fails (or perhaps doesn't even care) to assure the veracity of the info they publish.

I mean, I fully understand nobody can possibly control what is sold/bought and by whom. But, if they (E-Bay) give me a choice to select the supplier's location, then I expect this info to be accurate.

Also, the way E-Bay has dismissed/closed my case left me speechless. Especially, since E-Bay is very well aware of the case, in great detail !!   Sorry for venting. So frustrating.

Please don't use profanity on this community page.

"E-CRAP is a better name..."

",,,believing E-Bay gives a crap."

Please do contact eBay CS in social media for a case review.

As explained, you should never have had to pay for shipping back to Sri Lanka, that was a miscommunication somewhere. eBay could have forced a refund with no return if the seller didn't want to prepay to return.
