Authenticator Incomitance.

Has anyone else out there had an item they purchased sent to authenticator and it got damaged in authentication process? I'm going through an Ebay nightmare since I purchased a very collectable 60-year-old sports trading card. About a week after payment, I get an email saying sorry your card was damaged by authenticator. You are covered by buyer protection and will get full refund. Problem with that is, I as card owner was, from the moment my card was damaged, was left completely out of ANY communications relating to MY card. This card belongs to me (not ebay) and authenticator confiscated it for their "liquidation" and tried to buy me out with a full refund. I called customer support and informed them to NOT YET GIVE FULL REFUND. I requested to survey damage to assess how much refund was going to be necessary. They opened a case without my approval and also refunded without my approval. Found out the next day that the case they opened without my knowledge was closed and labeled "resolved" even though I had told them it was NOT RESOLVED! The finding at bottom of that report was falsified, as the report said I (card owner) had request full refund. Reminder, that I had called multiple customer representatives and told them not to fully refund, as I would like to assess the damage. I have been stiff-armed by the authenticators and customer service personnel claiming they could not send card to me because of their policies, though no reference to that was provided, but was told they get to "liquidate" my card however they see fit. I researched and did not see any protocol stating, that taking buyers products was authorized. (By the way, I got a good deal and estimate the card I bought was actually worth about $150 more than negotiated price I paid). Also, after telling me they will not send my card to me, I checked tracking info, and it says they sent it back to seller. Seller says he knows nothing of this. Someone is lying and this whole transaction stinks of dishonesty. All I want is my card, (damaged or not) that I purchased and ebay’s contractor damaged, returned to me. More than two decades on this auction sight and I never seen such disregard for customer service. They will not spend a buck to send my card to me or even let me arrange a pickup of the card at authenticator. The more they push back, the more resolve I have to find out what their secret is that I was told was "Inside information" and not allowed to know of. Am I alone here or has anyone else heard of this sick stuff happening?
Frustrated!
