Asking Seller to Hold my Package

I purchased an item on 03/16/2025 which is a pretty big item being shipped USPS. I found out that I need to leave town on business for 3 weeks. I asked the seller to please hold off on shipping my item until I return from my trip. Is this OK? Will Ebay reprimand the seller for not shipping my item out? The seller is a great guy and I would hate for Ebay to say something to him about, why my item hasn't been shipped out yet. Thanks ahead of time for any information you can share!

Sellers are required to ship on time.

Since you are going away for three weeks, it makes sense to make arrangements for all mail and packages to be held  by the carrier or picked up by a neighbor during your absence.

Re: Asking Seller to Hold my Package

Thanks for the information. However, that's not going to work. That's why I posted my concern. It's being shipped via USPS, and they have been really inconsistent with their deliveries. All my neighbors work during the day when USPS drops off. So My package would sit out there for possibly 5 hours, exposed to any/all porch pirates. Not Going to Happen!    I really would like to simply speak to a real live Ebay representative. Does anyone know how I can get a phone number I can call?

Re: Asking Seller to Hold my Package

The seller must ship within his/her shipping time frame or they will receive a defect on their account.  This is not allowed.  You can request the seller cancel the order and then purchase it at a later date.  There is no need to contact customer service.  The cannot hold the shipment without it affect their selling account in a negative way.
