I'm not a big seller but want to list an item with a brief video that proves it works. I found that I needed to use the advanced listing tool to add video and was allowed to do that. The video was rejected for "wrong format" (not correct) which probably means "We don't have a canned explanation for 'You're not allowed to use the advanced listing tool.'" My video is .mov format and is 5mb. Have I read the situation correctly? Even though I was allowed to create a listing (haven't finished) with the advanced tool, I officially can't use that tool, therefore I can't put a video in my listing? Thanks for your advice.

@naturguy You can use the advanced listing tool as any "size" of seller. I know many new sellers use it since they want to list with variations or add a video like you are doing.
Sometimes the system is quirky about file types.
I am not a tech person. Do these file types line up with what you are trying to use>
If they do then I recommend contacting customer service and see if they can tell you why the video won't load. If they say they are "opening a ticket" don't expect action any time soon unless a LOT of other sellers have the same problem.
Here's how to contact eBay customer service:

Thanks for prodding me with that timely information. I checked video requirements in advance and both .mov AND .mp4 were shown as acceptable. I suppose I was looking at outdated specs. With some difficulty I got my existing video changed to .mp4 AND down-sampled for good measure. I really appreciate your help!
