I am contacting a seller who prints labels and I want to send them a photo of a logo which I have saved in a word doc on my PC; how do I attach this to my eBay message?

I don't think you can attach a Word file. You could do a screen grab, which will save it as an image. An image file can be included in a message.

OK but I haven't the faintest idea how to do a screen grab.... I'll see what the seller suggests. Thanks for replying.

It may be possible to send it using the eBay email alias system - this is something I just came across recently, so not sure exactly how it works, but appears the seller needs to initiate the email alias exchange first (?); I would assume the buyer could respond with a DOC attachment.
This all goes through eBay servers and Messages, it says, so should be legit.
How to contact a buyer through Email
For privacy reasons, eBay is no longer displaying personal email addresses. However, you can still contact the buyer through email using their "Buyer Alias Email Address" which you can find in the View order details page.
This email alias, ending in @members.ebay.com, is unique to your communications with this buyer. You can also give email aliases to shipping carriers, so that they can securely share shipping updates with the buyer.
Messages sent using eBay alias addresses go through our secure servers before reaching a members registered email address and their eBay Messages. eBay email alias addresses support PDF, DOC, TXT, JPG, GIF, JPEG, PNG, BMP, and TIFF attachments up to a maximum size of 10 MB.

Wow, that is a great find!
I am a mac user, so I don't know how to do a screen capture on a windows machine.
Ask your seller to send you a direct email using the email address he can see on your order details page. Then you should be able to respond to that and attach your word file. If he doesn't understand, copy the paragraph above from @ferncliff-39 .

It's only a 'great find' if they are in a transaction - not clear if they are asking before or after a sale?
Plus the OP is in UK - but they do have the same policy over there -
