Can eBay "forge" a listing date?

Winning items are being listed on the basically the same day as when a clue is given out, right?

Otherwise, if they posted a winning item on 2/15 for a clue that came out on 2/18, someone could have possibly stumbled across the winning item before the clue was released, right?

Or can eBay forge the listing date so that it looks like it was posted a couple of days before the clue was released?

one thing to note that I find interesting is that the screenshots of the winning items show that the item has been viewed before, in some cases a lot. But noone would have looked at the auction and not been a little curious

On at least some of the earlier items, people were posting links to the auction before ebay took the site down. In that time people were able to see hte auction and therefor the hit number would go up but somebody would have already won

I'm having a hell of time just looking at todays new listings. Do you really think they are doing this? Sure wish somebody that's one would give a little insight on this...but noone wants to give away their advantage. Oh well...maybe we'll figure it out.

clarks2sean, I stated this yesterday. It's because the people who found it didn't claim the prize. Some people who are not aware of the game think its something lame, and was not aware, and someone else claimed the prize.
