Did you mean:

Attention eBay Staff...

Kudos on the Scavenger Hunt idea! Honestly, I for one think it's really nice that a little money is being thrown around just for nosing around the site.

Now, to all the little kiddies that are sure to flame me for supporting eBay's little game here....did you also throw a tantrum, stomping the floor and holding your breath when you didn't win the lottery tonight? Honest to god, nothing good can be done without the backlash of every person who DOESN'T win.
OH, and for all you sour-grapers out there calling for the winners to step forward...you wouldn't believe it if someone DID come out and said they won, so knock it off already.
You don't like the game? Don't play.
You don't make enough money from your sales on eBay? RAISE YOUR PRICES.
You can't deal with not having everything handed to you on a silver platter? Tough noogies, join the crowd.

Re: Attention eBay Staff...

I am actually happy for the winners. I am not a sour grape, We all need some extra money but I was looking for the fun of the actual hunt. It just is a bit weird and dishearting when the clues dont match the answers. Its really sucky. If there were a real-life treasure hunt, the makers would have a lawsuit for leading people in the wrong direction. Literaly, Not "misleading", but flat our lying.

Well said bruiserspookie. People need to stop complaining and either shut up and play the game or quit playing.

Re: Attention eBay Staff...

No they want you to run around looking for something that's not there so MAYBE YOU WILL RUN INTO SOMETHING YOU LIKE AND BID ON IT OR BUY IT, THUS THEY MAKE MONEY THINK OF ALL THE PEOPLE DOING THIS GAME AND FINDING SOMETHING THEY LIKE AND BUY IT.

Re: Attention eBay Staff...

barqs: you're an idiot. Ebay isn't going to recoup the losses of hundreds of thousands of dollars in prize money just by a bunch of idiot searchers "accidentally" buying some items. Hell, even if every one of us bought one thing we might not otherwise have bought, they won't make more than a few dollars at most off each one. They're doing this to get some publicity and to reward its members who are willing to sit here glued to the screen searching their site...

kryp2knight-
yes, like the poor guy with the mouse garden stake holding cheese- he probably just stocked up on hundreds after getting 10,000 or so hits.

Re: Attention eBay Staff...

While I have gotten frustrated and mad in the 5 days of doing this, I do feel like this game is deliciously difficult. Kinda like pain in a good way ?:|. I know that sounds weird, but for people that really do like challenging games or any sort... this one is right up near the top of the list.

It's like having a hard crossword puzzle you're doing... and you really enjoy doing it, but it's really hard and you get pissed off because you can't figure it out... but then when you finally do, you're sad because it is all over and you can't hunt or think of the answers any more.

While I sure do wish I could win $1,000... and I get frustrated because I have only been close... I am still enjoying the "game/hunt"... and especially, this forum for discussing the game.

I think it is generous of Ebay to give back some money. I hope they do it more often... it would be cool if there was one hidden auction everyday (or maybe 5, 10, 20 everyday):-D. It is a good marketing tactic to get new people to come to Ebay and join, but it is also something different and exciting for users that have been here.

Just don't let it get to ya... it's a game... try to enjoy it. Life isn't fair all the time and neither are games. Atleast some people will get the chance to have won $1,000 and I am happy for them. Maybe if Ebay does this again they will make it a bit more easy to give other people a better chance. But I really do think the difficulty level is just about right. I might not like it because I can't figure the answers out as fast as I would like or get to the auction fast enough, but winners have been happening at a consistant rate. And when a clue does go on for too long Ebay finally does give another hint... then it's solved right away.

So, thank you Ebay... keep doing this please... just fine tune it some.

Enjoy the game... enjoy the conversation :-x.
