Would anyone happen to know who made this doll? Says DEP.

Hi everyone! I'm having a hard time finding any markings because of the wig placement.

I was able to make out DEP under one side of where the wig is lifting.

In researching there are quite a few makers that come up but I have found one that says DEP Jumeau Bebe Closed Mouth which looks like an identical hit but I would want to know before I list her. 20220126_110054.jpg20220126_110059.jpg

Thank you for any help in advanced!

Your doll is a reproduction. Reproductions of antique bisque dolls usually use the original molds, so the incised mark will be the same. But you can tell this is a repro by the face paint, which is much more crudely done than a real Jumeau, and particularly by the eyes. One of the most telling features of a real Jumeau is the incredible paperweight glass eyes.

The doll still has value as a reproduction. You can search sold listings for Jumeau reproductions to get an idea. When you list, be sure to also include photos of the doll nude.

Thank you so much for your help. I took a look at some of the reproductions and I saw some that said paperweight eyes so im confused lol. I dont know how to tell if they are or not. Do the reproductions have paperweight as well?

This is her without her clothes..unfortunately her  arm needs to be sewn back on and her hair...well its a mess lol

There are modern paperweight eyes, but they're a pale shadow of antique paperweight eyes. And Jumeau is revered for the quality of their eyes. I would encourage you to Google and look at photos of genuine Jumeaus. Once you've seen those eyes you'll never mistake anything else for them.

It should also be noted that your doll's body is also clearly a reproduction. Jumeaus usually have composition bodies and less often kid leather bodies with bisque lower arms and legs.
