Hello. I have this 3.5" tall tribal looking artifact. It could be vintage it could be years old, I am totally clueless. It appears to be a very hard material, not carved wood.
The hole in the top would suggest a pipe of some sort, but then again, how would the smoking material get loaded into it? Also, the circular area to accomodate a cord for hanging?
If you can help me with my mystery, I would be very grateful.

I think the style is Moche stirrup vessel. Old or new? Art or tourist item? Actually made in Peru or a reproduction imported from China ? Those questions I cannot answer. Anyhow, unless someone comes along with definite information for you, start with a Google search, all and image, of moche stirrup vessel or moche stirrup spout vessel or similar to see if you agree.
