Identifying Style

Can you help me find out out material this radio is made of?  An estate sale organizer told me it had value because it was made out of ________ (fill in the blank).  I've googled the item, found examples but none state the material the radio is made of.    The Classic RadioClassic Radio

Yes!  That is what he said!  Thanks so much.  Is it really of any sellable value?

Re: Identifying Style

I go to auctions often and these radios are quite collectible.  But the collectors are very picky. You probably have no way to test the tubes, so you couldn't say it was in working order.  Bakelite is fragile and would require a lot of padding.  The different shapes have names and some shapes are more collectible than others.  It has a great look to it.

Re: Identifying Style

Your radio is a reproduction sold through Sharper Image in the late 80s.
