Can anybody tell me how old this Seth Thomas clock is?

The only marking I see is on bottom stamped JI.

Just a WAG, 1920 or so?

I Googled and found this site for dating Seth Thomas clocks, maybe it will help?

Tran uy Ly's Seth Thomas book (Arlington Book Co.) list "Tambors" from page 688 through 709 with 4 to 6 clocks on each page. Dated from early 1920's into the 30' yours appears to match one of the "Sentinel" models circa 1928. Clock could have been made a few years either side of that date.

The lettering on the bottom would have some relationship to year and month of manufacture. Their should be 3 more numbers , the were printed in reverse 1887 would show as 7881, 1892 as 2981 . The letters represented the month 1 = jan, 2 = feb and so on. They skipped the letter i as it could be interpeted as a 1 . So your J is the tenth letter = October but they skipped the letter i so J is September.  They used this dating method starting in the 1880's but am not sure how long they continued to use it.
