It is articulated with cord. There are no markings anywhere. I am not sure but it might be bisque. It isn't a smooth finish like porcelain. The eyes don't close. The fingers on the hands are quite stubby. She is about 11" tall. believe the dress and the shoes are original to the doll. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Have you checked on the back of the neck? If it is Not a store bought item then most of them have the artists name inside the head. How are the seams on the molded hands? Is this maybe someones first attempt at doll making?

It looks like a 'Kewpie' doll.
Especially those clumsy looking hands & fingers.!!.

It is some sort of kewpie doll. Possibly a homemade one or japanese version of one. I would look for markings around the neck or on the back of the doll. I posted a picture of a rubber kewpie doll. This is how they are usually known.
