I'm not sure what to make of this guy, he came from a museum auction aways back, still has the sticker on his foot, but I've seen similar dolls listed both as route 66 dolls, and as early dolls. He is very light, has a rich patina, has bellywarmers and feet similar to those found in Brooklyn Museum's online collection, collected from First Mesa Arizona. That is the extent of what I know. I can't find his name, so he must be a less common doll. Any insight would be marvelous! Thanks, Misty

I found this site, which may give you some clues.... the older ones were made from a single piece of cottonwood, newer ones are assembled. If you Google "symbolism of Kachina dolls" you will find much more info..... good luck!
