I inherited a bunch of old Chinese things from an aunt. This set was
among the things she gave me...My research indicates they are fairly
valuable? would love to have some comments on this, I assumed they were
tourist items, maybe from the 30s 40s......
Hi there. These are Damascene(technique of metal art) cake servers. Are
they gold plated? Research further. Possibly from Spain, Morroco,
Damascus. Good luck! Damascene is also done in Japan but the style of
design doesn't suggest it.
The fancy frame could be because this was an important piece to whoever
owned it. A panel from an old ancestral home torn down? A temple?
Carried to the US in memory of the place?
If the green stone is opaque it's probably chalcedony. An old piece
would be a higher gold value, the red stones look like ruby cabochons.
Never seen a similar piece in India, I am guessing Middle East, maybe
