Need Help Identifying Item Please

Hi,

Everyone has been such a help on items,

and now another item located in the barn.

 Marked on one top rim is:

   PAT Jan 26  1915

 Other end marked on rim;

   Jubilee  Omaha Nebr.

  2 1/4" L. Widest area is 1" D.

Made up of heavy metal, glass and very hard rubber.

  Bottom screws easily screw off the post.

  We did not go any further to see if the rest of the

  parts come apart.

Any help would be great!

I can't be sure, but it looks like an old oil filter for a car or a tractor maybe?  My brother is a car guy, I could ask him.
