selling question

I have had someone who just purchased one of my aceo's ask me if i had any others that matched it for them to purchase. My question is do i have to sell to them through ebay? Or can i just sell to them myself? I am not sure how this fits into ebay rules. thank you gina

selling question

some people make a listing as a buy-it-now and send the link to the person --I've done it that way and directly depending on the situation. 🙂 Amanda

If you want the "security" and fees of ebay you can do it through them. My liberal interpretation is that unless the piece was offered on ebay or you used the ebay communication system to make the deal, you are under no obligation to involve them.

robnzak answered this recently. If you are not trading off ebay for an already item, it seems that that is ok. He is a lot more knowledgeable in this than me.

selling question

robnzak (4379 ) 04/03/07 07:40 AM (#10 of 14) Delete Branch I think there's a bit of confusion here... Dragon, if someone wants to commission a larger piece based on another work (in this case an ACEO), it is not necessary for the customer to purchase the ACEO in question. You're perfectly free to discuss the commission of a piece without violating any ebay rules because the rules in place are for items currently listed. A commission is something that has yet to be created. So if you had a listing advertising a custom painting, then you would need to continue the sale via ebay. BUT, this is not the case so you now have a choice. Once your customer is ready to order, you can create a special ebay listing for them OR you may offer it off site to avoid the ebay fees. Just because a customer "found" you on ebay doesn't mean a future transaction has to take place on ebay. rob See 'old' thread... "Questions re ebay rules."
