What are we doing with 'un-done' DARES?

Just curious...are we just forgetting about them? Are we able to re-submit them? Can we complete them ourselves? What do you think? Thanks, Cherie

Good question that was raised in another discussion somewhere in here, but I'm not sure it was ever resolved. For some folks, I think they intend to follow through, but got too busy or something's come up or whatever it is that causes delays. I'm usually on the 6th or 7th day before I finally finish. But if the unmet dare is older than say 10 days, perhaps we just need to put the list out there, and maybe even reassign the dares to the next people on the Dare Takers list? Or perhaps have the DARER have a go at it? Jillian? I think we need your thoughts on this for sure!

I think it should definately be up to Jillian, since she is doing all the work to organize these dares. But, my opionion is, I feel it might discourage dare givers just a bit if they possibly were going to have to complete the dare if it didn't get done. I probably would be willing to do it, but it might discourage some. And it does seem that the dares are slowing a bit anyway. Correct? saffron

So much GREAT creative energy has come from these that I hope that people do different versions of the dare. I mean, there are so many themes that lots of artists have done their own interpretations on (for example, Alice in Wonderland, Frida, Vincent van Gogh etc). /Karen

In discussion DARE #17 I've asked Jillian what she thinks! I agree /Karen, isn't it great? Such variety and such fantastic ideas and artwork! Thanks! Cherie

Thanks for raising the issue, Cherie. I agree that it's sad to see a good dare go to waste. One possibility would be to put all the unfulfilled dares into a new thread and let anyone give it a try. Perhaps some members that are reluctant to sign on for lack of time or other reasons would feel inspired enough by a dare to tackle a card ... I'm always happy for the inspiration! What do you think, Jillian? I'd be happy to go back through the old discussion threads and collect the un-done dares. Isabelle

Perhaps we could go the old school yard route: Those who don't make their dares have to eat a bug, or have to referee a paint off between Mick and Josh...oh, wait...that actually sounds like fun! First thought best thought: Eat a bug! (Unless the daree has a really good reason for not completing the dare.) Just my one cent! Penny 😉

I thought perhaps they should have to answer a TRUTH if they didn't finish their DARE....

Ooh, Ellen...you might be on to something! But, Karen, your fly guy is so cute! Just imagine that all bugs are like him! Penny 🙂

I was having the same though Ellen had... they have to answer TRUTH! And the person who issued the dare gets to ask the question. Muahahaha! This could be fun....

I agree truth! But I think maybe some may be getting discouraged because their dares are things that are not sellable and the dare givers do not actually place a bid on them , I know it is shilling , but as an unofficial jester I think that was how it was suppose to go , and maybe some are getting discouraged since they have to pay to list , and the dare is not marketable. Just a thought . Thank God I did all my dares , I hate bugs too. SUE B

Sue' I agree with everything you said. But also, some dare takers are starting their cards way too high. Its almost as if some people are setting their starting prices high because they feel the Dare Giver is OBLIGATED to bid. I've been a Dare Giver & Dare Taker several times (Okay I've been in 9 sets so far) and the worst part is worrying that someone will get my dare and set the starting price so high I can't afford to bid on it. julee

True , I think this is a sensitive area since we need to be careful of shilling , but like Josh had originally said it is kind of a commission , and not shilling , so we should have made a set starting bid so some would know the standard . Remember it is suppose to be a fun thing and mind stimulating , I think we should have put a cap on starting bids so that all could afford to at least offset the cost of posting the cards.

I've been listing my dares at less than I normally list my cards at...but, now I'm wondering if people still think that's too high. I don't want to offend anyone, or have them think they are obligated to buy what they dared at any price! I try to bid on the cards I dared just because I dare things that I would want. Some of them haven't been listed, or maybe I can't find them? I was thinking maybe there could be a thread for dare trades. Like if I can't get motivated on my dare, maybe someone else would be and vice versa. A dare swapping thread perhaps?
