Unsolicited emails.

Sorry. One of the glitches in the new platform ... and I'm tearing my hair out here... There is the ability to send spam emails. I cannot control this and am SO sorry about those you would have received overnight. I have about 20 from all different groups. Anyone doing this will be BANNED. Again, sorry. It's out of my hands. Ok, I guess dartnkatz just answered my question! So apparently it was not even an eBay member? Like a phishing email?

:-) I thought it was weird that Safe Harbor said they couldn't connect the emails to an ebay account. I didn't have any problem figuring out who the member was! Maybe Safe Harbor isn't in the loop on this one yet? I have a question for Jillian or one of the mods. When we use the email members function in groups, would that email also go to our ebay inbox or not. I don't remember. Thanks.

Contrary to what safe harbor says, this person DOES have an Ebay account: uniqueautographs77 joined less than a month ago.

S/he just registered that ID on eBay 9/28/07, from UK. Maybe just new and didn't understand? I'm glad eBay acted quickly, Jillian!

Something is not right... says he/she only joined ebay on the 28th, but has been a member of some of my other groups since 04? Perhaps someone's account has been hijacked. I did not receive the mail in my Ebay account, only my personnal account.

Could s/he have joined ebay as a 'guest' under that ID back in 2004 to get into groups but just joined as a registered user in Sept?

:-x Hi! Jillian: So sorry, this happened to the Group. This person also sent out emails from OSWOA. I have noticed this happening in several groups. There should be a way to stop this "free email" - anything you want. I just deleted a pile of them. ((( Circle of Hugs ))) Sherrie

I got about 10 of them from different groups. :( It's a glitch in this 'new platform' and is NOT supposed to happen AT ALL. When this happens I always get emails and people quit groups, not counting those that turn off emails, which means I can't communicate when I want to. It's bad. I constantly get emails from the autographs group from ebay.uk. And i got the half dozen or so today. It seems to me that I recall that you have to set a preference or something when creating an email within a group when you want it to go to a single member or it will go out to everyone in the group to their individual emails. I have just been deleting the ones I get from that group until I had a chance to go and withdraw from the group. -- Walk in peace and beauty, Falcon

This was a different happening. This was due to a glitch (one of the many) in the new platform. NOONE should have gotten this email. BAD. I got a letter of apology from ebay, along with a thank you for alerting them. -- ~Jillian artist, Jillian Crider N/A - ask me!

maybe they should apologise to all of us!!i received 9 copies of this email,ran it through a hacker program i have,it showed that if you had clicked on the"ebay"link,it doesn't exist!there is NOTHING for sale!!AND has the'signin"thing,so this person could hijack your account!!!THIS REALLY PISSES ME OFF!!! sorry,jillian,but i'm feeling very loud about this!! -- tell me your story,i'll make it a song...
