Trying MSAgent In my Auctions

I've added a msagent (Merlin) to one of my auctions to see if it works, and would like to get some feedback. Especially from people who are on MAC's. Does it show up on the MAC? If you use Windows, do you also see it? (I'm not automatically downloading the agent(s), so I'm curious what happens. What do you think of this little addition. If anyone wants the code to do this just message me, and I'll send it to you. Here's the link to the auction.... http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=270100054401 Thanks for looking... He's very cute. My only concern is that as I scrolled through your page, he was always in front of the image. Maybe there is a way to keep him up at the top so he doesn't distract from the impact of your work? That's a wonderful piece. It's very powerful. Michelle

He is adorable! But as Michelle said, he was always right in front of what I was trying to look at....:( ~Melody

G'day DragonStorm I looked at your auction and the wizard can be moved out of the way by simply left mouse click-hold and drag to release out of the way. Don't know how many people would try to do this ...but it certainly worked for me. Great tool too!!!! Maybe you should see if you can preset it to display in a better spot on startup. Belinda 🙂

ok, I'll be the bad guy. He is very CUTE! However, I would put him in my blog or website or something. Not an auction. I'm one of those people that hates all the cutesy add-on's in auctions, like music (Hate that!), voice-overs, YouTube Videos...etc... I can barely stand seeing my Vendio slideshow in my own auctions, but I leave it there because it works! If I come across an auction with other distractions like moving icons or music, I backarrow right out. I've had this conversation in the past in other groups about add-ins in auctions and there are lots of others who feel this way too. then again, I'm sure lots love it! So I guess you do what you think is best for your auctions. sorry. just giving you another perspective. Good Luck! :)

cute but I would not use on auctions either. I use windows with Internet Explorer & when I went to a different tab in my browser, your little wizard followed me to the next website & I didn't like that.

I saw this guy once before on an auction and I closed the page... It's just like commercials on tv...I hate them..I don't want to hear them, see them...I don't want too much information! :)

Ackkk... guess my speakers were too loud...I personally would prefer it not there at all. Plus, I myself wouldn't say anything but you asked. 😄 zJayne

draagonstorm, The problem I have with pages that are too fancy technically is that I'm one of the impoverished still on a dial up connection. I also have a mac. It takes a long time for things to fully load. I checked out your auction and timed it. After a full minute, the larger image of your actual work hadn't shown up, only the decorative frame, the auction information, etc. The "MS" only got an "error" message on the progress bar ..... just before the connection was overloaded and disconnected me.:( I'm not certain how many of us dial ups are out there, but I suspect there might be quite a few who still can't afford to upgrade and they might have problems viewing your auctions or not be patient enough to wait through the long loading problem. Its one of the reasons that I keep my listings as simple as possible so no one will have to wait too long for the item I'm selling to show up. Still didn't get to see your picture. Drat! maggieB

And because of these problems, I find that if I go to an auction where the page looks too complicated and is taking too long, I usually back out quickly, too, just so it won't freeze my computer or cause the connection to fail. I've just updated my browser, but before the update, I had to constantly reboot the system because of websites that had too many fancy features. Sorry, draagonstorm.

I have high speed dsl, but I am sometimes relegated to an old slow computer(any time my wife is home). On that machine I have disabled flash, quicktime, and anything else that is supposed to show moving pictures. I also have images blocked from several sources. Don't tell anyone, but I even had to block Jillian's opening page animations. Animated gifs, even emoticons slow the thing to a crawl. I panic when I go to a page that has that kind of stuff, because I may never get out. I spent a lot of time learning how to put fancy things on web pages but took them all off of my site after I tried to look at it on a dial-up connection. An old acquaintance of mine has big high resolution images of his paintings on his site and finally put up a disclaimer on the splash page that basically says if you can't afford high speed internet, you can't afford my paintings so don't bother trying to look.
