Ornate ACEO/ATC frames: Pricing Help!

I'm wondering if there would be a demand for ornate ACEO frames I have an ACEO in an ornate frame and love it. I have purchased more frames - each one different and I am wondering what price you might be willing to pay. The highest price and the lowest price. Thanks. ~Jillian

Yes, you will easily find 2.5x3.5" frames around in various stores. Certainly snap them up when you can! :) The ones here are not readily available. TIP for when you're buying frames for ACEOs: Carry a playing card with you the same size as an ATC/ACEO and try it in the frams - sometimes they say the frame is for 2.5x3.5" but the opening is MUCH smaller and the 'lip' can cover a lot of your card, to the detriment of being able to view it nicely.

I have great luck finding wonderful frames for 3.5" x 2.5" art cards -- from the simple, clean look of a plain, smooth, black wood frame to more ornate metal and wood frames -- at Wal-Mart and Hobby Lobby. I've also found some small unfinished frames that I might actually coordinate with specific art cards, by painting the frames to match. Just last week, I got this fabulous frame (at Hobby Lobby) that has sections that move. It's solid wood, smooth finish, painted black. It holds 5 art cards perfectly. The front two "frames within the frame" slide, so you can change which cards are displaying at whim. (Am I describing that well?) This one will eventually be filled with belly dancers as a gift for my husband. (He's got a thing for Middle Eastern music and belly dancers, and I've been collecting belly dancer art cards by other artists, as well as making one of my own. I figure he can put the topless ones in the back section and hide them by sliding the frames around when the kids pop into his office! One more card to go! Anyone out there planning on painting a belly dancer?) I'm surprised that other folks are having such a hard time finding frames. I live in the middle of the corn, and the highlight of this town is most definitely Hobby Lobby for me!

I'd love to buy a collection of those, though again the shipping from the UK would be a bit worrisome. I have so many atc's that frame would look great with and I think a collection of them on the right wall would look amazing! I'm so tired of storing them away. I do have a few hand-made wire easels I use to display some of the one's I've purchased but the frames would be a great addition!! iow, I LUV 'EM!!!!

I have to admit, I'm a bit more of a cheapskate. I have found half a dozen small, nice frames at our local thrift store and my wife keeps an eye out for them too when she goes to yard sales. Geeez, I have a wonderful wife! That's all for now from the Upper One. mmmm...bye!! Joe R.

I have lots of ACEO frames. But getting the ornate ones are the problem ones. I've been to places like Hobby Lobby, Wal-mart, etc. I'm in Atlanta so have a billion places to go to. It's getting these ornate ones that is so difficult. The only other place I've seen the bulky ornate ones, is at a local framers, and they were well over $30 each, and still didn't have the 'look' of these, even though the framer's frames were better made, and much heavier.

That first frame is fantastic Jillian. What price did you have in mind? I would think something that ornate would do really well considering how many collectors of ACEO's there are. Might be a good store item at a reasonable price. (not give away or cheap) just my opinion. :) mary

I am going to go through the frames I have Mary, and list whatever I can. I can't easily replace them, and so want to work out what I want to keep for myself. I got them wholesale, so it's not a matter of me putting a price on something I bought retail. Sorry, just am swamped at the moment with things to do.

Thank so much Sue. I know what it's like not to have the money available. :( If these don't sell I will be happy to hang on to them. But I also need the $s. I took over an hours selecting them, and drove an hour to get to the warehouse. Oh well. We shall see. :) Hope all works out ok for you Sue, it's not fun to be out of work and having to watch spending.

Been there myself Sue. I've had people take me on, on crutches. I couldn't drive or catch public transport. Had to go to and from work in a taxi. So hope it works out for you. Check with agencies. OK? ~Jillian
