Well well well..... from 2nd July, their European Pay Pal company which is currently registered and based in the UK, is being transferred to a brand new Pay Pal company which will be based in Luxembourg....and all UK PayPal accounts will be transferred automatically to the Luxembourg company.... and
"Also, the Privacy Policy will reflect that PayPal Luxembourg will be the data controller of your personal information from 2 July 2007 and set out further details of the third parties to whom PayPal Luxembourg will disclose your personal and account information."
I wonder what they're up to. Ebay has taken a hammering this week again in hte uK, and the government has said it will if necessary make a change to UK law to stop ebay allowing reselling of tickets by auction to public events on its sites.
so now, if we're got an issue with PayPal, sorting it out is going to be more difficult as we'd have to do it not by UK law but by Luxembourg's laws :(
I wonder how long it'll be before ebay creates PayPal "off shore" sites, so it becomes impossible to police them properly?! Or else they locate all the Paypal financial services to Switzerland!
I am definately going to try some listings on Tazbar and see how it goes, and on Ebid too.
