Digital canvas prints

Okay so like I've collected a few of these and I am simply entranced by the quality and presentation! I'm not good enough to do it for selling (yet) but ... I thought what a GREAT present for my family - instead of cards, a real canvas print. Of the artists that I've asked for more information about hoiw they do that process for their work - two replied and they own the equipment (which is pricey at this stage of the game for me and besides - I just wanted a handful for xmas done right now anyway), and the others haven't replied and might not ever if they are worried about me being competitive or something silly (they are way beyond my skill level - no way could I ever be an actual threat - would take me like yearssssss to get that good and then they;d still be years better than me lol) ... so wondering if any of you guys know anything about it and if there are any good companies that can do a small series run, and if so who is the best folks to go through? -- ~Faerydae

Sometimes emails go astray - into 'junk' mail. I actually hate the junk filters as I have to check it for mail I WANT. All my PayPal emails are going into junk at the moment for instance. I know some people just delete their junk without looking, and also, if they don't check in 24 hours, it self destructs, anyway. I'm not sure where you might get these printed in small runs. Check locally for giclee printers. If you do ACEO size then you might be able to get a whole lot printed as 'one' large - then only pay the one price. Kinko's do OK with 'wallet size' photos on photo paper - 4 at a time. But you MIGHT want to ask them if you buy your own canvas printing paper (easy to buy from office supply, art supply stores, or online - maybe eBay has some listed?), can you use that in their machine? They often allow people to put in their own specialty paper - like with letterheads and such. So you might like to ask. Try also asking 'www dot iprintfromhome dot com' I think they do printing on canvas online and I can recommend them as a great company - I get slides from digital photos from them - their prices are very reasonable and service is exceptional. I think they have branched out to doing printing for artists. Again, you probably would need to supply several ACEO size images as 'ONE' image and get it printed large size, then cut up the canvas yourself. The big printers for doing this type of printing are fairly expensive, but getting cheaper all the time, but INKS are dreadfully expensive and used up quickly. If you buy the canvas sheets then you can just do them in you own home color printer if you want. They would be archival to about 25 years or so, at least - and probably a lot longer. -- ~Jillian artist, Jillian Crider ... google me!

Also, you might check 'services' category, here on eBay - some people offer printing services - you can always ask. -- ~Jillian artist, Jillian Crider ... google me!

You might look into imagekind dot com. I haven't tried them, but they were recently acquired by cafepress. whcc dot com has canvas as well. They require you to send in sample images before they grant you an account. -- ~ Charlie imagesbycharlie

Hello! I'm going to try to find out who prints on canvas as well. I'd love to do that myself! I'll soon be looking for a new printer, I want a really good one, of course...will be doing some research on those soon, but thatz another story! ;) Anyway, I did buy one beautiful print on canvas once, it's a horse, and it's amazingly beautiful! I'll try to find out whatever I can on this! -- It's dark at night. ~ Cherie
