Hi Lori. It probably doesn't really matter which category you list under, since most buyers use keyword search on "ACEO." Most people probably list in the category of: Art > Direct from the Artist > Painting/Drawing (whatever medium your work is), then in the Item Specifics box, select ACEO as the size. Don't waste your money listing in more than one category. It won't get you any better visibility. That beng said, some people often list in non art categories. For example, if you painted a Corgi, you could list under Collectibles > Dog > Welsh Corgi, and still get the same exposure, as Corgi collectors will be searching "ACEO Corgi." Make sure to use your keywords wisely when you write your auction titles. For example, the title of the piece is meaningless and won't get you any hits in search. Use words like ACEO, original (or print, if that's the case), acrylic/watercolor/ink (whatever medium is used), and the subject (cat, dog, animal, Christmas, etc). Keep in mind that most people search by keyword, not category, so using the right words could make the difference in a sale, or not getting seen at all. Good luck! -- Kathy

LOL. I put that avatar up as a joke, and ended up leaving it because everyone started associating me with the blue cow/hippo (the jury's still out on exactly what it is). That's the funny thing with this board. Since we all have avatars, people start to become recognized by their avatar. If you use the same one for a long time, then change it, no one "recognizes" you. -- Kathy

Hello there, I am looking for some good tips on selling ACEOs. Does it help to sell more pieces at once, say 10 or so...or is it better to have say just 1 or 2, Thanks Carrie

Personally - I don't think it matters either way. What does matter is attracting customers! You never know what will sell. As we have all experienced - something you think will sell - doesn't, and something you don't think is all that appealing could end up in a bidding war! I suggest you just list what you are comfortable with! Sue

I think you always need something listed. I would personally only list no more than 2 or 3 at the SAME time, and even then am reluctant to do that. If you can, I recommend listing 3-5 a DAY - at times about 1 1/2 hours apart. But for many, myself included, this is not possible. Also I think that Best Match 'killed' this being a good option. Though if I have more than 1 item to list the same day, I don't list together usually. I always list using my last name (CRIDER) so anyone browsing sees my name - HOWEVER with best match - eBay's default search option, you are hardly likely to be seen at all. (BM is the WORST idea that eBay has EVER had, along with the star ratings! And even the top seller's badge as even terribly bad sellers - fraudsters - get it, and get prime visibility - as if eBay is condoning thieves and frauds). If your name is too long, use another thing to distinguish yourself - many use their initials (for instance, I could use JEC, instead). This MIGHT help in people browsing to see you over and over, and start looking for you. It can work against you, too, of course, they may look at one of your works, not like it, then learn to pass over a closer look at any more when they see your initials. Two years ago I would get well over 100 views per item (usually 150). There was an IMMEDIATE drop once BM was bought in. Now I am lucky to get 10 viewers, unless I promote myself online. A recent work got over 200 hits, but that was due to a special 'promotion' I ran. You should list every day if you can. The whole thing is to stay visible. Those who have been absent from eBay listing for a while, find it difficult to get back 'in' (I know, I'm one - I haven't listed since April of 2009, until recently). These aren't rules to live by. They are just my experiences, yours may be different. -- ~Jillian artist, Jillian Crider ... google me!
