I just got my first one from ilv2qlt - Oh my... it's the most amazing piece!!! I'm hoping Judy has some pics she can post for you or I will try to get some today and post them. It''s totally amazing - you're going to have to tell a story Judy to explain the stamps and the postmark from Paris on the back... wow! Really cool ACEO!!!! Thank you and I can't wait for everyone to see it! :-) --

Re: Open Topic SWAP Talk ~ August '08

I just got my first one from Julie at GougePaintings, and I love them. A beautiful one of the Blue Ridge MTs, I think she must have known that when I was young we took yearly trips through the mountains . I still remember the little shops along the roads that sold quilts and bedspreads. Then a darling print of a kitty, Thank you Julie. ~Cheryl~ Photobucket Photobucket

Thanks, Melanie - glad you like the card. I've scanned one for you but each of the cards is just a little different. The story on the stamps is that they were collected in the 1960's from mail sent to Universal Pictures in California from mail they get around the world. (Who says you shouldn't save things for 40+ years?) The Paris post mark on the back is one of my rubber stamps. Using fabric, sewing, paper and glue was fun on this one. Judy Stamp1 StampBK

I've gotten two of the most lovely cards. This one is from Jerima (Jean) and is inspired by the hand stitched Mola done by women on the San Plas Islands of Panama - just beautiful! Mola Next is from Deb (Artshtick) and is titled "Always a Swan" So appropriate - I see the egrets here in Florida all the time. They are very much like swans. I'm starting a collection of Deb's work - just lovely. Swan Thank you both - I'm thrilled with my new cards. Judy

Re: Open Topic SWAP Talk ~ August '08

Two of my Open Swaps arrived! Darlene sent me this wonderful Abstract, which looks like a dog's eye looking at a cat and you're the cat. I love it! I'm such a cat nut anyway. It's wonderful! ATC Abstract by Darlene Julie Gouge sent me an awesome painting of a subject I've never even dared try to paint... but love so much. The landscape is magnificent, the train looks real, it takes me out into wide distances and beautiful places. "CSX Train on Trestle, Roan Mtn." ATC Train from Julie Gouge She added a great print on a familiar theme -- done realist! I love how "hear no evil" is actually cupping its ears rather than covering them... ATC Print from Julie Gouge Yes, I did have to edit twice because Photobucket got confused and put up the wrong image and broke the images.
