I have my new computer now - with Vista, so far no problems with it -- but my complete backup was 3 years ago - yech! So I've lost a lot of photographs since then (including a great shot I had of a heron sitting on a dead snag - with the morning sun highlighting him). I am slowly getting things "rebuilt" -- between sessions of canning tomatoes...
Last weekend we attended an Air Festival at the small town near us - great show, wingwalking, several stunt planes, a MIG-17 (rather impressive when he went by barely above the runway with after-burners flaming 50 feet) & the Air Force exhibition team of precision jumpers - they were jumping from 2-1/2 miles up, & landed in the center of an X with 8' crossarms).
They also had rides available for people who wanted to have an adventure - tandem sky-diving, in small planes - and the one that I chose: the sail-plane 🙂 -- Lots of fun being up in a glider, with only the sound of wind going past - riding the thermals (I always envied hawks & buzzards when they did that) - one time we were on such a good thermal that we weren't even losing altitude. heh - maybe next year I'll try the sky-diving (a 75 yr-old grandma did that this year).
