I am so excited! I just had to come here and share my news with folks who appreciate ACEO's as much as I do! I was out at the park and I was sketching and painting and a gentlemen came up and started chatting me up and I remained diligently painting away. He asked if I had other pictures and I told him Yes, I sure do. I showed him some of my other works. And you know what he did??? He purchased one of my 'Summer Thongs' pieces for $175.00 CASH! No freakin Joke! It was one I was going to list for the July theme and I asked him if he was serious and he said absolutely. I guess he works with a magazine and would like to feature the piece!!!! I have to go to his office and fill out a bunch of paperwork and this that and the other. He also offered me royalties on the sales of the magazine! So once I find out which issue and everything else I'll tell you. He gave me a card and works with 'Art Monthly'. I mean I am floored, what are the chances???? Then to top it off he bought 3 more pieces at $50.00 each. So by sitting in the park and sketching and painting I made $325.00 cash! I showed him many of the pieces I had bought too for some of you fellow ebayers and he was impressed! I just had to share my news, because I have always been afraid to show my works but this month decided to go for it and invest more time into it... Oh I am so happy! I can pay my electric and my cable today!

Thanks everyone! I'm so thrilled about Watercolor Artist. My copy of the issue hasn't arrived yet though! Arrgh! I think I might buy an extra back issue anyway. Melissa, congratulations! That is so wonderful! Goes to show what happens if you paint out in public. You never know who'll come by to see what you're doing and fall in love with it. I should try that again here in Russellville if I can find a good scenic spot with traffic. Ken, that is fabulous! It's a wonderful painting. Oh poor you having to do another one for the exhibition -- actually that is going to be tough because you want to do one of your best and I know your style takes a lot of work and planning to get it that perfect. It has to. This is just amazing. This morning I tried to do a listing and got disgusted because the picture uploader wasn't working right. I have a really good new watercolor ACEO ... maybe I'll try again later. If you're interested in selling usage rights, "The Graphic Artists Guild Handbook of Pricing and Ethical Guidelines" is a great resource. It's available in most bookstores and on amazon... It has everything you need to know about types of rights and standard pricing and contracts and all that in most kinds of markets... and it has sample contracts you can work from to make a contract...
