As you know, fees vary across categories as eBay always strives to achieve lowest total fees across category competitors. Starting on March 1, 2022, final value fees for Store sellers and those without a store will increase slightly. You can learn more about that here, or review the fee comparison chart here. Feel free to ask any questions below!
Please note that eBay experts will be present and engaging on the boards between 8 am and 4:00 pm PST on 2.9.

Good question ... for which I bet you get no official answer.

If you look at it, there's only a few of us in relation to the total number of active sellers that are posting here. That's where my "most sellers will turn a blind eye" comment comes from. Most will probably don't bother reading the announcement and a good number will read it, be concerned but not even try to engage ebay about it.

I like the idea of a collaborative strike.

Yup rates are going up so we suck it up like good little soldiers and I go to list tonight, but the listing is broken and I'm getting a Global Error page. The photo uploader was having a bunch of issues last week so I switched to the new uploader as much as I really hated to(because you know a man has to work or go hungry) but that has a bunch of glitches and it's hard to use when changing categories. You really need to retrain your brain as once you have uploaded literally millions of photos, to do it a new way is really tough when your motor memory skills are ahead of your brain.
For all this and having to work around ebay problems we are now going to pay more. Something is really wrong with this picture.

You take and take and take from us sellers who ARE ebay! You are making a BAD move increasing fee's when we're already barely getting by! When you fall on your face and file chapter 13 you will then realize you have fallen into the worldwide elite Greed scam. You already take so much from everything, even illegally taking a FVF from a total that includes sales tax, not legal. Things are just getting worse and worse, it's so easy for the buyers to scam us even more now.

as eBay always strives to achieve lowest total fees across category competitors
I think you need to strive harder. Many sellers already sell other places and are not stupid enough to believe that.

Yes but us the sellers and small business crumbles as the big fat cats take everything! But eventually they'll fall like Rome did.

A 0.30 % fee increase is going to cause this much damage to you and your business?

No one likes fees increases, but if these increases are a deal breaker for sellers, then perhaps it's time to rethink what they are listing & selling on eBay...somethings just are not worth selling on eBay PERIOD!
I have my items spread over 3 sites to take advantage of the exposure and to get the varying final fees. I also sell on local sites. Sellers gotta do what they gotta do...

Why is there no fee discount for media sellers who have a store, the lack of discount is the primary reason I don't bother getting more than the basic level. I also want to know why big name sellers like thriftbooks are continuously allowed to use stock photos for items that are not new at all, they degrade the category with these practices

Well... by the time I reached reply #90, my blood pressure was starting to rise. I'm the hobby seller, have been for 20 years. But I have always done fairly well just selling product I've listed, its mostly craft related or the random unusual find. Except in the last batch of items I listed, they're just not selling even with free shipping (which I have always done). And what little I have sold; those payment managed deposits seem piddly. I have other options to sell this type of stuff I sell without paying any fees, like private social media groups. But I sure feel for you folks who are working hard to make an income. And it would seem that eBay could be a little more encouraging on their end to help out. I get it, they're a for profit business but no profits are made if people can't afford to sell by having to take losses doing so. Good luck everyone.

Is Ebay going to remove the commission charge on the Sales Tax which the seller doesn't receive? Hard to understand why Ebay is charging the commission on Sales Tax for this when Amazon doesn't. Monetizing the collection of Sales Tax is quite offensive since the seller receives none of it.
