As you know, fees vary across categories as eBay always strives to achieve lowest total fees across category competitors. Starting on March 1, 2022, final value fees for Store sellers and those without a store will increase slightly. You can learn more about that here, or review the fee comparison chart here. Perhaps you could share in the profits with those that made you instead of those that manage you.

Alot of sites out there but for my market I am switching to GunBroker and Armslist... Less Bells, Whistles and Hoops with 10-15% drop in FEES. I have purchased several products from FBMarketPlace but have not listed with them. Good Luck & Have Fun...

This is a little too "we are team" for me, because we aren't. We are oh so alone here.
And they will find a way to NOT post this reply because after 20+ years on eBay and REALLY loving some of the experience lately, I am going to skip over to Mercari and see what they've got going on over there.
I've had an eBay STORE for a couple of months and have seen no reduction in fees.
I think you're right. We have to all leave. Sadly, in my case. This has been one of my primary sources of income since the pandemic hit and I don't have a big hope that another platform is going to do as well for the unique vintage items I sell.
But this update was SO DISCOURAGING.
I also think we should ALL call eBay today and ask to speak to a customer service person today. Let's have those people on the front line listen to us. First, let's speak up and speak out. Nothing is going to change, but let's tell them we're leaving.
And then, we'll leave.
Dang. I was having such a good time here.

I agree with you. When ebay first started charging the fee on shipping, they said it was because some bad actors were charging little for the item and a lot for shipping to avoid fees. I have always thought they could have simply required calculated shipping on everything except Media Mail, and not punished everyone for the sins of a few. I sell dinnerware with Priority, so the shipping basically doubles my fees. I just sold two stoneware dinner plates on Poshmark and my buyer is paying about $7.60 for Priority across the country. And Posh pays shipping on returns they approve. Their 20% fee is not a problem for me. Even a 1 lb package is a bargain for shipping charge for buyers and lack of shipping fees for sellers.

Oh yes I fully understand there is a wal(china)mart segment that has no choice and does turn a profit but my proposed boycott was meant for the other 33% that cannot absorb $57 fees plus shipping on a $300 item. I have noticed significant drops in quality items being offered with each platform/fee circus pushed to the sellers over the past 15 years... Rather than whine and cry then wait for profound replies I simply stated the action I was taking that will stand the test of time and not be swayed by wind direction... Good Luck & Have Fun

I list everything I have on eBay over on Mercari but I still have about 2000 less listings on Mercari than i do on eBay. Some stuff sells higher over there. Like I put a comic up for $99 auction last week and no one even bid on it. I sold it for $150 on Mercari. Stuff I can't sell on ebay for $5 sells on Mercari for $10. It's really odd and hard to figure out but I am not complaining lol It's just a different pool of shoppers who seemingly don't like or don't use eBay. I have made $4077 in sales since October 2021 with 251 sales on 2833 listings and $3,475.79 profit. For comparison the same time frame from 10/10/21 on eBay is $4,618.63 revenue with 255 sales on 4171 listings and profit of $3051.81

crazy how Mercari works for different sellers. On my main account, I have around 30-50 items (at any given time) on eBay. I have twelve on Mercari. My eBay sales should be ~$10,000/month. My Mercari sales? Just a tad off... about $30 per month, on average. I didn't even hit enough on Mercari to get a 1099.

My wife has listed a bunch of clothing on Mercari and is having the same poor luck as you seem to be. She has had only two sales I think in two months

You would think Ebay would be finding ways to REDUCE fees for sellers, now that they eliminated middlemen like PayPal. Instead, it's more FEEbay. Here are some tips for Ebay sellers:
Ebay, Amazon, Mercari and others are making it next to impossible to make money. The heck with all of them; forge ahead on your own, like I have!

-All the crying and whinning in the World won't change a thing!!! You can think it, say it, and type it - but you will always get the same result. Nada
-Big Business has figured it out (not just ebay) as long as you have a place to vent and see others doing the same then you don't feel alone, so whala - the new and improved Jedi mind trick.....and they are making billions from your complacency.
-So while we are not a large volume buyer or seller; we are Red Blood Americans and vow NOT to conduct ANY business on ebay until the business model moves back in-line with the Seller making a profit. We challenge you to do the same. United We Stand, Divided We Fall...
If you are making money on Ebay, why would you do this over a 0.30% or 0.35% FVF increase. Sounds more like hurting yourself to try and prove a point that in no way could you get enough sellers together to make a "stand".
The small fee increase is likely to fund the new programs added that give sellers full FVF refunds on buyer requested cancellations to include the 30 cent transaction fee and the new program to give us FVF credits when we issue partial refunds.

Why? The FVF refunds should be given in these instances. A 'buyer requested cancellation' is 'undoing the transaction', therefore they should undo EVERYTHING about it. Period.
I NEVER said any different. There is NOTHING in my post that says or implies any such thing. Period.

I have been paying fees on shipping that is above the actual shipping and not receiving a bit of reduction in my fees when I refund the difference. This is ridiculous. We have to estimate our items prior to shipping as it would be a nightmare to package everything in advance. eBay not only makes money by charging us fees, but there isn't even a report that can show our refunds given back to our clients. With all money you are making, maybe you can figure out how to make a decent report that shows the date of sale and any refunds given associated with an item.
You kicked out Paypal to save us money. What a joke.

That changes in this Seller Update. Did you read it?
Paypal did not refund fees on partial refunds either. They changed that a couple years ago or more.
But now Ebay will per this recent Seller Update.

Please, I am trying to make a living here and it is so difficult. We have glitches that make it hard to list, and items and photos go missing but instead of fixing this we are getting charged more. I am lost and trying to make ends meet. I really need this money to pay my bills and raising the fees make it much more difficult. I know we are the little guys but please listen. I might be a low valued seller, but I am not a low valued person.
