Its always an improvement - for EBAY !!

At least they seem to think it is but most of the recent updates have just cost them business, both buyers and sellers.  I will admit the 2015 Fall Seller Update was an improvement overall, but it was just setting us up for the other shoe to drop, which it just did.

I don't remember how many years ago, but when ebay decided to charge a flat 10% across the board for FVF, it was an improvement for me.  Up until that point, I was paying 18% FVF on items in the category I was listing in.

And in February of this year we reduced the number of reasons for a defect from six to just two (both of which are completely controllable by the seller).

Really? completely controllable by the seller?   Dec 1st 2015 I shut my store of 12 years down because of that Fall Update...and many other things. Even though the preview of my Performance Level said I would have perfect scores after the new metrics kicked in. I believed...and still do...that because I was such a low volume seller, it would not take much to have me kicked off TRS because of 2-3 USPS screw ups and it is instant death of sales at that point instead of the slow starvation level I was at.

So when my highly helpful Mailman goes on vacation or is sick and I don't know it until after the PO closes that the sub did not scan my packages - that is in my control?  I guess it is...because I should have driven my packages there everyday and eat the cost of gas & wear and tear on my car just to jump through the new Metrics hoops.  Forgive me if I was not falling on my behind for joy about that update.

Since I am a jeweler, this Update is one that makes me glad that I made the decision to shut the store down!
