Why not put number watching item in advertisement of item? Ruby Lane and other competitors do this

Why not put # watchers (beginning with 1) in description of item for buyers to see??? This will increase sales in Antiques and Collectibles, for sure. Ruby Lane and other competitors do it. Will eBay just try it??? Thank you.
