ebay messages now look silly on my phone

ever since ebay started the new whatsapp-style messaging it looks ok on my computer but looks silly on my ebay phone app - see the phone screenshot I've attached. the text is tiny tiny and all squashed up to the left.is there a fix for this?

I'm using a samsung galaxy s8 phone with ebay app version 6.8.0.12. sell notifications take way too long to come through on my ebay phone app. other notifications seem to come through ok.with ebay email I get an instant notification if I sell an item...
