I have had my first "return" I will refund the full payment and shipping and send the people a return shipping label. Do I wait till they return the item to issue the price refund?

A customer brought and paid for an item. They are on hoilday and want me to delay shipping till they return. How do I do this without looking like I am a late shipper and hurt my standing with Ebay?
