I found out the hard way how this system works; I wasn't expecting to be
robbed with this policy, since I've been on eBay for over ten years,

It wouldn't be GIVING us anything, since it's already ours. But what
they're doing is effectively TAKING our money (putting it on hold,
tomato/tomato), and illegitimately reaping interests on our money
without our consent
