Why don't my "coupons" ever work? I've tried a number of times while making a purchase during check-out, but it never works when I enter the code! My coupons aren't expired, so what gives?

Item paid, but still getting emails for payment due

My son paid for an item I purchased with his account, so the item is paid for, but I keep getting emails from my Ebay account to pay for the item. Any help to end the emails, and will it reflect poorly on my ebay account since they keep contacting me...
