Why am I paying more for shipping in the final sale of an item then I paid in the sale

A buyer he or she claimed they didn't receive the item that was small enough to fit in a mailbox also the post master mark it as delivered to the address of an apartment, and we all know where apartment mail go eBay gave the money back
