Mobile app bid

Trying to bid on mobile app but I get message stating use website

Most recent update - Followed Searches now have the blue "newly listed" indicator dot but for previously viewed items. Sorting by "newly listed" does not prevent looking at same items again and again. What did eBay do to it???
