Apparently, this isn't as uncommon as I would have expected: a (former)
seller in Michigan was caught counterfeiting $400,000 in postage the

I rarely go full valley girl, but: OH MY GOD! This is INSANE. So, eBay
closed the case in my favor and while the refund was processing, the
seller sent them a "USPS Priority Mail" label… which apparently
interrupted the refund. The seller eventually ...
Spoke to high value claims, this morning; they say that the case is
closed and the refund is in process, even if the resolution center page
says it's still being decided and PayPal makes no mention of a pending
reversal on the original payment.
