I have been making some sales without them, plus I sell on 3 other sites
with a lot less fees. That would be my suggestion on making more sales
instead of paying extra for promoted.
I'm having the same issue. I bulk edited back in June (after the lost
photos glitch) to removed GTC and put everything on 30 days. I relist
one by one each month to make sure all is well (sometimes I find missing
details, or they are no longer mobile...
