Ebay seriously does a poor job of protecting its buyers from scammers
and cheats and unfortunately there are far too many of them out there
these days. I've had an impeccable selling record since I opened my
account over 15 years ago but all of that ...
From someone who literally JUST had a similar experience I can tell you
that photos mean nothing. eBay will just say that they could've been
taken at any time and isn't adequate proof for a seller to prove that an
item sold was in the condition state...
