Why are the shipping costs shown when creating a listing different than what is charged?

I've been selling Blu-rays and DVD for the past few months. When creating a listing, I enter the weight and size of the package, and I select the shipping service. The price shown for shipping is always a dollar or more less than what I actually have...

This may have been discussed already - Sorry to waste time if it was, but are we sure the winning items are listed that day? I mean, I haven't looked at items listed on Feb. 18 if the clue came out Feb. 20, but eBay could show the listing date as any...

ANYONE HAVE DETAILS ON WINNING LISTINGS?

When you click on a winning item, is it obvious that it's a winner, or do you have to search for something in the listing itself? Are the winning listings all newly listed? Any other details anyone can share?
