I have had this happen several times now. Either they ship a different,
broken item back, or they use the item for their needs (like a car test
kit) and then say it was defective and return it, basically getting
everything for free at seller's expens...

Those are easy to authenticate. Coach and Rolex would be able to verify
whether fake or not. They would actually help willingly, as they
aggressively search online sites for fakes.
