How handle payment local pick-up paid through Paypal. Proving Item acceptance time of transfer.

Hi, 1st time seller here doing local pick-up. How do I prove Buyer's identity to avoid future claims of never received or other problems? It's a heavy expensive item.Worried about getting scammed and Paypal not paying out.
