What is with the damn letters before our posts? U's and n's and then none and then refresh and they disapear? WHAT THE HELL!? What do the letters mean????????????

Title says it all!

First I searched cowboy, then cowboy boots, then cowboys and indians, and then I thought-not thinking laterally enough! So I thought "steer" (car) and "steer animals" a wrangler, and so searched Jeep wrangler to no avail! Anyone else as stupid as me?...

I was just looking over the clue list to see just how "laterally" we have to think, and is it just me, or are some of the clues very baffling? How people found those items is beyond me! Sheesh! (OK, some make total sense, so I'm probably just lacking...
