Payed item 12/20/22, seller was out and returned 1/6/23 now I see a message to pay for item.

I bided and payed on an item on 12/20/22, but the seller was out and returning 1/6/23. When I check on the status of item purchased and if the item was shipped. I notice payment icon is off and a message I have to pay. Has this happened to anyone?
