What should I do when I go through a purchase and get arrival date range, and item in cart yet?

I would like to know if I bought item or not? Why would I get an arrival date if it wasn't sold to me?

I thought I bought an item - I got an estimated delivery date - but then I saw it still in my cart??

What if one buys something from ebay that turns out to be stolen merchandise - I am particularly thinking of the quick jewelry store robberies they have shown on TV - ???
