How is it that an item can be readvertised three times, each after what appears to be "sold" transactions?

I don't wish to return to the seller. It just amazes me when I search for "one of a kind" items that turn up more than once...it's happened before and I just thought you should know.

My first thought is that they are not one of a kind. the seller states that the first time, the person didn't pay.
